Goryeong-gun kicks off transition to 9th elected administration

Goryeong-gun in North Gyeongsang Province held a senior staff meeting Monday to share the policy direction for the ninth elected term and conduct a final review of campaign pledges carried out during the eighth term.

County Chief Lee Nam-cheol called the meeting — the first senior staff gathering since the election — to cut off any drift toward complacency and accelerate the shift to a new administrative framework.

The ninth-term administration will carry forward the eighth-term governing slogan — "Young Goryeong, Powerful Goryeong" — to ensure administrative continuity and translate the groundwork laid over the past four years into tangible results that residents can feel.

The detailed implementation framework, however, has been sharpened considerably. Goryeong-gun has drawn up seven priority tasks and 22 action strategies to achieve the ninth-term governing goals.

"The environment surrounding public administration is changing rapidly, so we must boldly break free from the complacency of thinking we can keep doing things the way we always have," Lee said. "I will lead by example and work hard to fulfill our governing goals. I ask our senior civil servants to join me with a renewed sense of purpose."

Meanwhile, following Lee's reelection, Goryeong-gun opted not to form a separate transition committee. All departments are instead working under the overall coordination of the Planning and Budget Division to flesh out the ninth-term campaign pledge projects.
