Hyungji Elite's Willbe Play announced Monday it has launched a baseball jersey line blending traditional baseball uniform design with streetwear sensibility.
The line comprises 14 items designed to translate the sporty aesthetic of baseball uniforms into everyday casual wear. The pieces feature basic color palettes accented with contrasting stripe details, as well as tone-on-tone colorways suited for daily outfits. Lightweight, breathable fabrics allow for easy layering even in summer.
Hyungji Elite developed the line in response to a growing trend of baseball jerseys — once worn mainly by fans cheering at stadiums — crossing over into mainstream fashion. The company entered the sports merchandise business with a focus on baseball in 2020. Since last year, it has demonstrated a differentiated creative approach through the "1982DDM Project" in collaboration with the KBO, releasing retro uniforms that reinterpret the heritage of defunct professional baseball clubs.
Among the new products, the Line Point Cotton Jersey uses a cotton-poly blend for a soft feel, with a high cotton content for quick sweat absorption and breathability, while the polyester mix reduces wrinkling. The W Jersey is a lightweight product made from 100 percent polyester woven fabric for enhanced durability and shape retention, with a tone-on-tone color scheme that pairs easily with any look without appearing overdone.
