Ulsan Nam-gu district chief-elect Im Hyeon-cheol conducts field inspections

Im Hyeon-cheol, the district chief-elect of Nam-gu in Ulsan, has launched a series of field inspections at major project sites to assess the district's administrative operations and map out how he will fulfill his campaign pledges.

Im visited sites Tuesday, including the Nam-gu multipurpose sports facility development project and the Jangsaengpo Whale Trail construction project. He is scheduled to inspect additional sites Wednesday and Thursday, including the Bandabi Ice Rink and Welfare Center and the Dongpyeong Park underground public parking lot project.

Im assembled a four-member "lean transition committee," including himself, and from June 11 to Monday received briefings from 35 departments and agencies, including the Nam-gu District Office and the Nam-gu Urban Management Corporation. Through those briefings, the committee reviewed his campaign platform — comprising 41 projects across 12 tasks in five policy areas — and set the governing direction for the ninth directly elected district administration.

"I structured the transition committee to minimize formality and protocol and to enable swift, practice-oriented decision-making that improves operational efficiency," Im said. "By thoroughly reviewing each department's current operations and my campaign pledges, I intend to run a district office that gets out into the field once I take office."
