Super Junior's Choi Si-won posts, then deletes, nighttime photo apparently taken at Olympic Park

Choi Si-won, a member of K-pop group Super Junior and an actor, reportedly posted and then deleted a nighttime photo believed to have been taken at Olympic Park in Seoul.

Screenshots of the photo Choi had posted to his social media account spread across online communities and platforms, drawing wide attention, Star Today reported Friday.

The exact location in the photo has not been confirmed, but it appears to show part of Lotte Tower in Jamsil along with a South Korean national flag, trees and streetlights — details that have led many to conclude the setting is Olympic Park.

The area around Olympic Park, including the plaza in front of the handball and gymnastics arenas, has been the site of ongoing citizen rallies demanding a re-election, with participants alleging fraud in the June 3 local elections.

Online users who believe Choi visited the site praised him, calling him "the definitive conservative male celebrity" and "a courageous entertainer," with some adding, "To show this kind of action in times like these."

Around the time of former President Yoon Suk Yeol's first-instance sentencing, Choi had posted a series of Chinese four-character idioms — including phrases meaning "injustice will perish" and "collapse from within" — as well as Bible verses in quick succession.

YouTuber Jeon Han-gil also publicly expressed support for Choi, calling him "a courageous entertainer — one with principles, genuine sincerity and a burning soul."
