Trump posts airstrike footage, warns Iran of 'far worse' response if ships attacked again

US President Donald Trump released footage of retaliatory airstrikes against Iran over attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, warning that any further attacks would draw an even stronger military response.

Trump posted a series of images and videos on his Truth Social platform Wednesday, describing them as depicting strikes on Iran. "This is retaliation for Iran attacking ships on Wednesday," he wrote.

He then warned, "If this happens again, it will be far worse."

The footage showed massive fireballs erupting at what appeared to be coastal locations. The source of the videos and who filmed them were not disclosed.

The US military carried out additional airstrikes against Iran on Wednesday, extending operations into a second consecutive day.

US Central Command announced it had launched further strikes targeting Iran. Earlier Wednesday, it said it had struck more than 80 targets, including Iranian coastal radar installations, anti-ship missile systems and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fast boats.

The United States has characterized Iran's attacks on three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday and Tuesday — a Qatari liquefied natural gas carrier and oil tankers flagged by Saudi Arabia and Liberia — as violations of the US-Iran truce agreement.

Washington said the strikes were a direct response to those attacks and repeated its warning that any further targeting of commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz would be met with an even more forceful military response.
