Yeongdeungpo-gu District Chief Cho Yu-jin attended the 27th anniversary ceremony of the Yeongdeungpo Cultural Center on Wednesday afternoon.
About 100 people attended the event, including instructors, students and local artists. Cho presented commendations to 10 individuals who have led efforts to promote local culture, adding significance to the center's 27th anniversary.
Now in its 27th year, the Yeongdeungpo Cultural Center operates programs across a range of fields — humanities, music, film and fine arts — as well as cultural events such as arts festivals and calligraphy competitions.
"I am deeply grateful to everyone at the Yeongdeungpo Cultural Center for creating a space where residents have been able to enjoy, share and connect through culture and the arts over the past 27 years," Cho said. "We will continue working to promote local culture and build a city where residents can experience the arts as part of their everyday lives."
