LG OLED TVs earn wave of praise from international media for picture quality, immersion

LG Electronics' 2026 LG OLED TVs have drawn a string of glowing reviews from prominent international media outlets for their picture quality and immersive viewing experience.

According to industry sources Friday, Rtings, a Canada-based specialist publication that evaluates audio and video equipment, named the LG OLED evo AI G6 its "Best TV" in the "Best TV for Watching Movies in 2026" category based on its own testing.

Rtings described the LG OLED evo AI G6 as "a TV optimized for movie watching that delivers remarkable immersion," adding that it "reproduces deep, rich blacks without blooming, maximizing the sense of depth in the image."

The publication also praised LG OLED's image-processing technology, saying it "not only upscales low-resolution streaming and standard Blu-ray content with exceptional quality, but also effectively eliminates the degradation that appears in heavily compressed video."

Rtings also selected the LG OLED evo AI C6 as the best upper mid-range TV for movie watching, citing its top-tier image processing on par with the G6, its ability to render low-resolution content with clarity, and its exceptionally wide viewing angle.

British technology publication T3, after watching "Oppenheimer," "Bugonia" and "Shelter" on the LG OLED G6, concluded that the set "delivers flawless picture quality and immersion that transforms a living room into a movie theater."

T3 wrote that "sharpness, brightness, contrast, depth and realism combine in perfect harmony to create an effect that feels like magic."

Positive reviews also extended beyond LG's OLED lineup to the LG Micro RGB Evo, a next-generation premium LCD TV that has recently begun reaching the market, with critics highlighting its color reproduction during movie playback.

US technology outlet WIRED, after watching "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" and "Inside Out" on the LG Micro RGB Evo, said the set "showed an incredibly rich and varied palette of colors," adding that "skin tones in particular were rendered with fine detail and naturalness."

WIRED also assessed the TV's gaming performance, noting that with its 165Hz refresh rate support, "we experienced vivid colors and sharpness, with almost no motion blur even during fast-moving sports broadcasts."

An LG Electronics official said the recognition from demanding international specialist media "is the result of our technology standing out for its focus on the essence of picture quality," adding that the company "will continue to deliver a viewing experience of a different dimension to customers around the world, backed by our superior technology."
