Hana Bank opens children's career experience center at Korea JobWorld

Hana Bank has opened the "Children's Hana Bank Career Experience Center" at Korea JobWorld, a comprehensive career experience facility under the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

The opening ceremony, held Tuesday, was attended by Hana Bank President Lee Ho-sung, Korea JobWorld Chairman Lee Byeong-gyun and officials from both institutions. The center is designed to let children learn the concepts of saving and finance naturally by experiencing banking tasks firsthand.

The center is modeled after a real bank branch, equipped with financial consultation counters, a vault, a number-ticket dispenser and a bankbook printer, allowing children to take turns playing the roles of bank teller and customer.

Participating children can learn the basic principles of finance and the value of saving through activities such as filling out account-opening application forms, issuing number tickets, creating experience bankbooks, making deposits and withdrawals using play currency, and decorating their bankbooks with Hana Bank's mascot characters Byeoldori and Byeolsongi.

Hana Bank will also operate a "Joy Branch Office" and an attached bank branch within Korea JobWorld. The Joy Branch Office handles the issuance and management of "Joy," the play currency used in the children's center, along with Joy cards.

A Hana Bank employee will be stationed at the attached branch to provide financial services and consultations to Korea JobWorld visitors, including account opening, savings and installment savings enrollment, internet and mobile banking registration, and debit card issuance. The bank also plans to offer dedicated financial products for minors — such as the "ONE PICK" account — and financial education programs tailored to children.

"We hope this becomes a valuable space where children can learn about finance in an easy and enjoyable way and develop sound financial habits," Hana Bank President Lee Ho-sung said. "We will continue to expand a variety of hands-on financial education programs that help build the financial capabilities of future generations."
