AMD signs 15-year deal with Core Scientific for up to 2.5 GW of data center capacity

US chipmaker AMD has signed a 15-year partnership with AI data center operator Core Scientific to secure access to the company's data center infrastructure.

Core Scientific said in a press release Tuesday that under the agreement, AMD will gain access to more than 500 MW of the company's data center capacity starting in 2027.

The data centers will be equipped with AMD's AI solutions — including GPUs, CPUs and software — and made available to AMD customers such as AI model developers, cloud providers and enterprise clients. Core Scientific added that AMD will secure up to 2.5 GW of data center capacity over the life of the contract.

Matthew Hein, AMD's vice president of corporate development, said Core Scientific's extensive AI data center portfolio "expands infrastructure access for our customers to deploy AMD's AI solutions at scale."

In exchange, AMD will receive market-price warrants to purchase Core Scientific common stock.
