Samsung Electronics to showcase 'full-stack' gaming experience at Gamescom 2026

Samsung Electronics announced Tuesday it will participate in Gamescom 2026, the world's largest gaming exhibition, held in Cologne, Germany.

The event runs from Aug. 26 to Aug. 30 (local time). Samsung plans to present a full-stack gaming experience that seamlessly connects multiple gaming platforms.

Gamescom drew 360,000 visitors last year. This year, about 1,500 software, hardware and game content companies are taking part, under the theme "Games Spark Excitement for the Future."

Under the slogan "#PlaySamsung," Samsung will offer hands-on gaming experiences spanning mobile, PC and console platforms.

The company will display the world's first 6K gaming monitor, the Odyssey G8, along with the high-performance SSD 9100 PRO for next-generation gaming and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Visitors will be able to play games on the featured new products.

The Odyssey G8, launched in May, features a "Dual Mode" that lets users switch freely between a 6K/165Hz ultra-high-resolution mode and a 3K/330Hz ultra-high-refresh-rate mode to suit different game genres. Visitors to the Samsung booth will also be able to try Pearl Abyss's open-world action-adventure title "Crimson Desert."

The Odyssey G8 supports both Nvidia G-Sync compatibility and AMD FreeSync Premium, enabling tear-free and stutter-free gameplay even in demanding titles.

Visitors can also play a wide variety of game genres on mobile devices including the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

From Aug. 27 to Aug. 28, the PlayGalaxy Cup World Final — a global tournament league showcasing the gaming performance of Galaxy smartphones — will be held at the venue.

The tournament, contested in "PUBG Mobile," will open with a special match featuring prominent global gaming influencers, followed by 10 teams that qualified through regional preliminaries across five zones — North America, Latin America, Europe, Southeast Asia and South Asia — competing for the championship.
