Gyeongil University footballer Lee Tae-bin signs with Taiwan's Hang Yuan F.C.

Gyeongil University announced Monday that Lee Tae-bin, a third-year student in the university's football department, has signed a professional contract with Taiwanese club Hang Yuan F.C.

Lee enrolled in Gyeongil University's football department in 2024 and has been an active member of the squad ever since. This year, as a third-year upperclassman, he has taken on a leadership role for younger teammates while maintaining a consistent presence on the pitch.

A central and defensive midfielder, Lee anchors his team's midfield with precise ball control and strong game management.

His technical ability allows him to slip out of pressure with ease, and he has the distribution skills to pick out teammates across the full width of the pitch.

Hang Yuan F.C. is a storied club in Taiwanese football — the first side in the country's history to reach the AFC Cup group stage — and is considered one of the premier names in the Taiwanese professional league. The club finished second in the 2025/2026 season.

"I am very happy to be starting a new challenge at Hang Yuan," Lee said. "I am grateful to the club for believing in me, and I will do my best to become a player who contributes to the team."

An Jun-sang, head of the football department, said the university would continue to spare no effort in supporting more student athletes in making their way onto the international stage.
