Singer Jang Yun-jeong exits 'Nego King' after 6 months: 'I held on out of responsibility'

Singer Jang Yun-jeong is leaving the web variety show "Nego King" after six months as host.

On Wednesday, the YouTube channel Dalla Studio posted a video titled "Going to the final episode's cica battle at under 6,000 won? Chairman Jang's last skincare nego."

The video captured Jang's final shoot for the show, in which she conducted one last round of negotiations with a skincare brand in her signature no-holds-barred style as "Chairman Jang."

When the production crew asked for her thoughts, she said, "It was cold when we started. We began in cold weather, and now it's already hot." She added, "Time flows like water."

After wrapping up the final negotiation, she said her goodbyes to the crew and the cast members who had played her "organization" throughout the season.

Seeing everyone gathered together, Jang said warmly, "Good to see you. I heard you weren't coming." She also reflected on her time as host, recalling that early on she had told staff, "I can't do this. What if we call it off?" — admitting how difficult those first shoots had been.

"It was so hard," she continued. "When the company representatives looked shaken, I felt shaken too. I thought I wouldn't be able to pull it off, but as the show aired, so many people cheered me on, saying they were glad I was on their side. That's when my sense of responsibility kicked in."

Jang also expressed both gratitude and regret toward her fellow cast members. "I told them I was sorry for making them follow me around like bodyguards when that wasn't their job," she said, drawing applause when she added that she had bought a vacuum cleaner — one of the brands she had negotiated with on the show — for a cast member who said they never got to purchase one.

She closed with a farewell: "I've grown attached to everything, inside and out. I'm grateful to everyone who showed their love. Thank you for everything."

"Nego King" is a web entertainment show on Dalla Studio's YouTube channel in which a host gathers consumer opinions and negotiates steep discounts and perks directly with company executives. Jang was named the show's eighth "Nego King" and its new host when the latest season launched on March 19.
