Gangnam-gu (district mayor Kim Hyeon-gi) will hold a public real estate tax seminar for 500 residents on Sept. 18 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the main auditorium on the second floor of Gangnam Community Center, offering a detailed breakdown of the government's Aug. 3 real estate tax reform package.
The seminar was organized in response to a surge in resident concerns about the impact of the recently announced Aug. 3 real estate tax reform on property-related tax burdens, including capital gains tax and the comprehensive real estate holding tax. The event will explain the key provisions of the reform and provide practical response strategies for residents.
The featured speaker is Kim Ho-yong, CEO of Mirjin Tax and operator of the popular blog "Minerva Owl's Tax Stories," who previously served at the National Tax Service and the Ministry of Economy and Finance's tax bureau (property tax division). Kim will deliver a tailored lecture breaking down the complex reform package through real-life case studies.
The four-hour session will cover a core analysis of the government's Aug. 3 real estate tax reform, changes to capital gains tax and the comprehensive real estate holding tax, and recommended response strategies. A question-and-answer session will follow to allow residents to address individual tax concerns.
Residents wishing to attend may register online through the Gangnam-gu district office website (under Communication & Participation → Education & Courses → Real Estate Tax Resident Seminar) from Tuesday through Sept. 11, or by calling the district office's tax management division. Registration is first-come, first-served, with 500 spots available.
