Im Hyun-tae, husband of broadcaster Lady Jane, is set to reveal the stock investment strategy behind his reported 900 percent return.
The couple, who welcomed twins last year, will share their financial stories on the Tuesday episode of SBS' "Dong Sang I Mong Season 2 — You Are My Destiny," airing at 10:40 p.m.
During a recent recording, Im revealed that his stock portfolio had generated a return of nearly 900 percent, placing him in the top 3 percent of investors at a domestic brokerage. As of last month, he continues to rank in the top 4 percent at the same firm.
The disclosure drew an enthusiastic response from the studio amid ongoing market volatility. "I had no idea you had this kind of talent," one person said, while others remarked, "The results are really impressive," and "Shouldn't you be changing careers?"
Im said he turned to stocks after marriage while looking for a stable way to earn money. "I started with about 5 million won ($3,530) and grew it to 50 million won," he said, adding that he read widely and watched many investment-related videos to build his own betting strategy.
Im also drew particular attention from the cast by naming new investment picks rather than the Kospi heavyweights Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix that have driven the market's recent surge.
The episode will also feature model Lee Hyun-i's own stock investment story.
Lee, whose husband works in a key division of Samsung Electronics' semiconductor unit, admits under repeated questioning from the hosts that she once held Samsung Electronics shares when the stock was trading around 50,000 won. She is also expected to reveal a notable stock purchase story of her own.
Lady Jane married Im, a musical actor and former member of the group Big Flo who is 10 years her junior, in 2023. The couple welcomed twin daughters through in vitro fertilization in July last year.
