LG Uplus launches AI-integrated building management solution 'AI Building Net by ixi'

LG Uplus has unveiled an AI-powered integrated building management solution designed to improve operational efficiency, safety, security and the overall user experience.

The company announced Thursday the launch of "AI Building Net by ixi," a comprehensive building management platform supporting senior care facilities, residences, offices and commercial properties.

AI Building Net by ixi combines AI with wired and wireless communications technology to connect and analyze data from a range of Internet of Things devices inside buildings — including sensors, closed-circuit television cameras and robots. The platform uses that data to streamline facility operations and enhance the experience of building occupants.

The launch marks LG Uplus's broader push to expand beyond traditional telecommunications into AI-driven digital transformation services that support building operations and user experience.

For senior care facilities, LG Uplus has introduced a dedicated module called "Wellness Note" built on the AI Building Net by ixi platform.

The "AI Building Net by ixi-Wellness Note" service uses AI to analyze in real time data collected from health-monitoring sensors and other care-focused IoT devices, enabling continuous monitoring of residents' health. The system detects warning signs more quickly and allows staff to respond swiftly to emergencies. AI also tracks changes in each resident's lifestyle patterns and health condition, enabling personalized health management and ongoing monitoring of health trends.

The solution also improves operational efficiency for facility managers. Through a dedicated app, managers can check in real time the status of task assignments for each resident, track task completion and review handover notes. Automated record-keeping and reporting reduce the burden of repetitive administrative work, while standardized workflows help staff deliver consistent care.

LG Uplus is currently running a pilot of AI Building Net by ixi-Wellness Note at Solache Home Misa, a premium nursing home operated by Shinhan Life Care.

The platform also covers building safety, security and space management. By linking access control systems with location-recognition sensors, the solution monitors real-time occupancy by area and adjusts entry numbers based on congestion levels. It supports efficient access management, control of unauthorized entry, detection of abnormal loitering and emergency response.
