Cartoonist Heo Young-man has shared an update on his condition, saying he is recovering in hospital following a fall.
A post recently appeared on Heo's social media account alongside a video, reading: "I have a special gift for the people who appeared in my cartoon diary. I'm having limited-edition prints made — one for each episode's subject — and delivering them personally. Watch the behind-the-scenes process in the Shorts."
When fans responded with comments such as "We miss you, sir," Heo's team replied that he "is slowly recovering his health in hospital."
The update drew wide support from fans, who left messages including "Wishing you a speedy recovery" and "Please get well soon."
Heo had been injured in a fall in June and admitted to an intensive care unit. At the time, his team announced he would suspend all public activities for now, saying "a health issue has arisen and he is currently focusing on treatment and recovery in accordance with his doctors' recommendations."
As a result, TV Chosun's "Sikgaek Heo Young-man's Baekban Giyaeng," a food-travel program Heo had led since 2019, wrapped up its first season.
