Daegu Health College radiology students complete international training at Japanese university

The radiology department of Daegu Health College conducted an international vocational training program at Junshin Gakuen University in Fukuoka, Japan, from Monday through Thursday.

The program was organized as part of the Glocal University 30 project, giving students direct exposure to radiology education and clinical practice in Japan to broaden their professional competencies internationally.

A total of 20 participants took part, including professors and students from the Handalbich Glocal Health Alliance — a consortium comprising Daegu Health College, Gwangju Health University and Daejeon Health Institute of Technology.

Participants toured the radiology department facilities at Junshin Gakuen University before attending classes and hands-on practice sessions alongside local students.

Korean and Japanese students worked in teams to share specialized knowledge, comparing radiology education methods and clinical practice cases from the two countries.

Participants took part in MRI practice sessions and a radiation therapy simulation planning program, gaining firsthand experience with the educational environment and technology in diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy. They then held discussions and a question-and-answer session on practical application cases, consolidating what they had learned through comprehensive feedback.

Shim Jae-gu, head of the radiology department, said the college would continue supporting exchanges that allow students from both countries to experience profession-focused, practice-oriented education together, helping them build the competencies needed in global healthcare settings.
