Singer Yun Hang-gi to perform free concert in Samcheok

Singer Yun Hang-gi, 83, scored a string of hits from the 1960s through the 1980s, including "I Am Happy," "Rose-Colored Scarf" and "This Is Really It." His younger sister, Yun Bok-hui, 80, is equally beloved for her signature song "Everyone" and other popular tunes.

Samcheok city announced that Yun will bring his trademark message of happiness to the city on Thursday, when the Korea Entertainers Hanmaeum Association hosts the "2026 Romance Concert 5080 Samcheok" at 3 p.m. at the Samcheok Culture and Arts Center's main hall. Admission is free, part of a touring initiative to make K-culture accessible to more people across the country.

The concert is designed for audiences in their 50s through 80s, offering a nostalgic program of popular songs from decades past so attendees can relive the romance of earlier times.

Yun, who has consistently remained active in the popular music scene, will be joined by performers Jeong Jeong-a, Hyeon Dang, Choi Yu-na, Kang Min-ju and Jeong Seon-hui. Broadcaster Kim Byeong-chan will serve as emcee.

No advance tickets are required. Doors open on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the show, allowing anyone to attend without hassle.

The Korea Entertainers Hanmaeum Association was founded in 1981 by entertainers working in popular culture and the arts. Since then, it has staged more than 400 benefit performances for communities with limited access to cultural events.
