iM Securities announced Thursday it will hold a mock investment contest for university students in the Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province region.

The contest is part of iM Financial Group's youth support project.

The competition runs from Tuesday through Oct. 8, spanning roughly one month. Any current or on-leave undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at a university in the Daegu or North Gyeongsang Province area may participate through the iM Securities mobile trading system. Applications are accepted through Sept. 28.

The contest is structured as an individual competition based on returns from domestic stock trading. Cash prizes and certificates will be awarded to the top 25 finishers. The first-place winner will also have the opportunity to take part in an experiential internship program at an iM Securities branch in the Daegu area.

To be eligible for prizes, participants must maintain a trading turnover rate of at least 500 percent, trade five or more stocks, and complete trades on at least five business days.

"We designed this contest so that university students can gain investment experience without pressure and take their first steps into investing," an iM Securities official said. "We will continue working to help students build sound investment habits and foster a healthy investment culture."

iM Securities also carries out a range of social contribution activities. In July, it donated funds to support economic education and cultural experience programs for children from low-income single-parent households.
