Italian luxury automaker Maserati announced Thursday it will provide its full luxury vehicle lineup to "Chaebol X Detective 2," an SBS Friday-Saturday drama series following the lively investigative duo of chaebol detective Jin I-su and newly joined team leader Joo Hye-ra.
Airing on SBS every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m., the show centers on the partnership of third-generation chaebol detective Jin I-su (played by Ahn Bo-hyun) and Joo Hye-ra (played by Jung Eun-chae), who solve cases through what the show calls "flex investigations" — leveraging wealth and personal connections. The series has deepened its mystery with each episode; its eighth installment recently hit a peak viewership rating of 9.3 percent, with 8.0 percent in Greater Seoul and 7.9 percent nationwide, topping its own record and ranking first in its time slot.
Maserati Korea is supplying a lineup of luxury models, each with a distinct character. The MC20 Cello in particular serves as the vehicle for Jin I-su, whose formidable wealth, connections and relentless drive define his approach to solving cases. The Grecale, GranTurismo and GranCabrio also appear throughout the series, accentuating the show's bold and flamboyant characters.
Gaurav Thapa, head of Maserati Korea, said it was meaningful to showcase the brand's diverse appeal through characters with such varied personalities. "We hope this series gives viewers a natural opportunity to experience Maserati's distinctly Italian luxury lifestyle — where bold design meets unrivaled performance — as part of their everyday lives," he said.
Meanwhile, Maserati Korea is running a limited fuel-cost support program for owners of its luxury SUV, the Grecale, through the end of this month to ease vehicle maintenance costs, as part of broader marketing efforts aimed at improving customer convenience and expanding its reach.
