The Gyeonggi Institute of Science and Technology Promotion signed an MOU Thursday with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information's Regional Innovation Research Center to expand AI adoption support for businesses in Gyeonggi Province.
The agreement links KISTI's AI Transformation Integrated Support Model, known as AXIS, to the institute's existing corporate support and AI pilot programs. The two organizations will assess each company's AI capabilities and technology readiness from the outset, then identify pilot projects suited to each firm's conditions and needs, building a tailored support framework in the process.
The initiative aims to reduce trial-and-error during the AI adoption process and expand practical, on-site AI use among businesses across the province.
AXIS is an integrated support system combining an AI transformation diagnostic and consulting service — which analyzes a company's current level of AI adoption — with an industry-specific archive of AI transformation case studies.
The two institutions will collaborate across four areas: use of the AI transformation diagnostic and consulting service, feedback on outcomes and model improvement, advancement of AI pilot programs, and joint project development and dissemination of results.
The institute will use diagnostic results to identify AI pilot projects matched to each company's technology level and specific needs.
Im Jong-bin, head of the institute's AI division, said the partnership would "combine the institute's corporate support and pilot infrastructure with KISTI's expertise in AI transformation diagnostics and consulting to back the AI transition of businesses across the province."
