Skies will be mostly clear across the country Friday, with afternoon highs reaching up to 32 degrees Celsius. Rain is forecast in parts of Gangwon Province's east coast and mountainous areas, as well as on Jeju Island.
Jeju Island is expected to see rain from early morning through the afternoon. Gangwon Province's east coast and inland mountain areas could receive rain from morning through the night. Busan and Ulsan may see brief early-morning sprinkles of less than 0.1 millimeters.
Forecast precipitation totals are 5 to 20 millimeters for Jeju Island, 5 to 10 millimeters for Gangwon's mountainous areas, and less than 5 millimeters for Gangwon's east coast.
Morning lows are expected to range from 17 to 24 C, with afternoon highs of 25 to 32 C. Most regions will see clear skies, though lingering late-summer heat will continue through the afternoon.
Wave heights are forecast to reach up to 3.5 meters in the near-shore waters of the East Sea and South Sea, and up to 1.5 meters in the Yellow Sea. In open waters farther offshore, swells are expected to reach up to 4 meters in the East Sea, 3.5 meters in the Yellow Sea, and 5 meters in the South Sea.
