An international conference bringing together leading advanced mobility technology companies — from Hyundai Motor to Nvidia — will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Westin Josun Seoul hotel.
The 2026 Global Mobility Conference, co-hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Korea Transportation Safety Authority and the OECD International Transport Forum, will convene global mobility companies, experts and international organizations to examine the changes and challenges arising from the commercialization and wider adoption of advanced mobility technologies such as autonomous driving and AI, and to discuss the policy and industry directions needed to address them.
Private sector participants include Hyundai Motor Group, Samsung Fire, Kakao Mobility, Waymo, Nvidia, Pony.ai and Archer, while research institutions represented include MCube, a German future mobility innovation cluster, and CATS, a research institute under China's Ministry of Transport. International organizations joining the conference include the International Transport Forum, UN ESCAP, Airports Council International World and the International Road Transport Union.
The conference is themed "From New to Now: Steering Mobility Innovations Toward Realities," reflecting its aim to move mobility innovation beyond technological possibility and into everyday experiences the public can feel, through coordinated policy, regulatory responses and international cooperation.
On the first day, keynote addresses will be delivered by Ryu Geung-sun, chief executive of Kakao Mobility, Steven Han, executive director at Waymo, and Gaurav Agarwal, senior director at Nvidia. They will outline the present and future of mobility innovation, covering topics such as the expansion of autonomous mobility and AI-defined safe mobility.
The second day will focus on international cooperation to accelerate the expansion of mobility innovation, with in-depth discussions on the future direction of mobility development from technological, safety and industrial perspectives.
"Mobility innovation driven by autonomous driving and AI is already taking place across our daily lives, but we must now make a greater leap so that all citizens can truly feel its impact," Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Yun-deok said. "I hope that mobility innovators gathered in one place will engage in deep discussions on a future vision and the direction of global cooperation."
