Hiker in his 60s falls at Daedunsan observatory while taking photos, airlifted to hospital

A man in his 60s fell 2 to 3 meters at the Chilseongbong observatory on Daedunsan in Wanju-gun, North Jeolla Province, at around 11:19 a.m. Sunday.

The man, identified only by his surname, sustained injuries to his ankle and other parts of his body and was airlifted by fire department helicopter to a hospital, police said.

Police believe he lost his footing while trying to take a photo during a hike and are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
