The Born Korea's coffee brand Paik's Coffee announced Tuesday it has signed a master franchise agreement with a local Taiwanese partner to enter the Taiwan market.
The Born Korea recently concluded a 10-year master franchise deal in Taiwan, with CEO Baek Jong-won and representatives of the local partner in attendance. The two sides are targeting 10 stores in the first year, scaling up to more than 150 locations by year five.
"We are conducting market research to develop a Taiwan-specific operating strategy for Paik's Coffee, with the goal of opening stores in the first half of next year," a company official said. "The schedule and scale of additional store openings will be adjusted flexibly based on local market conditions and operating performance."
Meanwhile, Paik's Coffee made its Japan debut last month, opening two company-operated stores in Shinbashi and Kanda in Tokyo in quick succession. The brand is also preparing to enter China, the United States and India next year, with further expansion into Cambodia and Turkey under consideration.
