Daegu Catholic University tops nation in per-student scholarships for 3rd consecutive year

Daegu Catholic University announced Tuesday that it has recorded the highest per-student scholarship amount among large universities nationwide for three consecutive years.

According to the 2026 University Information Disclosure, the university's per-student scholarship stood at 4.9 million won ($3,650), ranking first in the country among universities with 10,000 or more enrolled students.

The figure was 4.85 million won last year and rose to 4.9 million won this year, maintaining the top position for three straight years.

The university has continuously operated its internal scholarship system to ease the tuition burden on students and expand access to education, while focusing on securing external scholarships in partnership with the government, local authorities, and private companies and foundations.

"We will further strengthen scholarship support so that it provides real help to our students, and we will fulfill our role as a university that stands by its students to the end," said Sung Han-ki, president of Daegu Catholic University.
