Up to 30 percent refund on farm, livestock and seafood purchases at six Nam-gu markets from Sept. 16 to 20
Nam-gu, a district in Ulsan, will hold a chuseok gift certificate refund event to ease the financial burden on shoppers and boost business at traditional markets ahead of the holiday.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries are supporting the event. It will run for five days, from Sept. 16 to 20, at six traditional markets in the district. Shoppers who buy domestically produced agricultural, livestock or seafood products there will receive up to 30 percent of their purchase amount back in Onnuri gift certificates.
The refund cap is 10,000 won for purchases of 34,000 won ($25) or more per person, and 20,000 won for purchases of 67,000 won or more. Shoppers seeking a refund should bring their receipt and identification from that day to the designated refund counter at the market.
The participating markets are Sinjeong Sangga Market, Sinjeong Market, Suam Sangga Market, Suam General Market, Ulsan Beongae Market and Yaeum Sangga Market. Those looking to claim refunds on seafood purchases can do so at Sinjeong Sangga Market, Sinjeong Market, Suam Sangga Market and Suamhoe Fish Market.
