Ulsan levies W211.2b in September property taxes

Ulsan has levied 211.2 billion won ($157 million) in September regular property taxes — covering 330,547 cases — and is urging residents to pay by Sept. 30. The tax applies to owners of housing and land as of June 1 this year.

The September bill rose 6.8 billion won, or 3.3%, from last year's 204.4 billion won, driven by increases in publicly assessed housing prices — up 5.22% for apartment complexes and 1.14% for individual homes — and a 1.85% rise in publicly assessed land values. By district, the breakdown is Jung-gu at 23.2 billion won, Nam-gu at 70.3 billion won, Dong-gu at 14 billion won, Buk-gu at 36.1 billion won and Ulju-gun at 67.6 billion won.

Taxpayers can pay in person at financial institutions or through ATMs, virtual accounts, the Wetax online tax service, the internet giro system, or the Smart Wetax mobile app, which offers a local tax payment service.

For inquiries, residents can contact the tax division of their respective district or county office: Jung-gu at 290-3372, Nam-gu at 226-3563, Dong-gu at 209-3272, Buk-gu at 241-7522 and Ulju-gun at 204-0532.

A city official urged residents to pay on time, warning that a 3% late payment surcharge will be imposed on any unpaid taxes after the deadline.
