Celebrity golfers to tee off with amateurs at Suncheon CC tournament

The 4th Namdo Broadcasting Cup Amateur Golf Tournament & Dream Shot Celebrity Golf Team Invitational Round is set for Oct. 20 at Suncheon Country Club.

The 4th Namdo Broadcasting Cup Amateur Golf Tournament and Dream Shot Celebrity Golf Team Invitational Round will be held Oct. 20 at Suncheon Country Club in Suncheon, bringing together local amateur golfers and celebrity players for a day on the course.

Organized by Namdo Broadcasting, the tournament returns to Suncheon CC in Byeollyang-myeon for the first time in three years, with the aim of promoting a healthy golf culture and fostering exchanges among local amateur players.

This year's event will feature 18 teams — nine women's and nine men's — competing over 18 holes in a shinperio format. Play will begin simultaneously across all holes in a shotgun start, and the round will be conducted without caddies.

A highlight of the tournament is the participation of the Dream Shot Celebrity Golf Team, whose members will join amateur participants for the round.

About 12 celebrities are expected to take part, including actor Im Seong-eon and comedian Kim Seong-gyu, who serves as team captain, along with Kim Ji-ho, Seo Nam-yong and singers Aura and Ineeo.

Prizes are generously stacked: the winner takes home 1 million won ($739) in prize money, the runner-up receives a six-month weekday green-fee pass at Suncheon CC along with a product prize, and third place earns a three-month weekday green-fee pass and a product prize.

The entry fee is 150,000 won, covering the green fee, cart fee, tournament participation fee and a commemorative gift. Registration closes Oct. 14 and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis by order of payment.

"We are preparing this as a festival where local golf enthusiasts can round together, connect and have fun — beyond just competition," said Im Jong-uk, chief executive of Namdo Broadcasting. "With celebrity rounds, a variety of prizes and commemorative gifts all lined up, we hope many golf fans will take an interest and join us."
