Kim Eun-cheol takes office as new executive director of Construction Workers Mutual Aid Association

The Construction Workers Mutual Aid Association said Monday that Kim Eun-cheol, a former standing commissioner of the National Labor Relations Commission under the Ministry of Employment and Labor, took office as its new executive director.

Kim graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in political science and diplomacy and previously served as planning and finance officer and international cooperation officer at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, as well as standing commissioner of the National Labor Relations Commission.

In his inaugural address, Kim said "the sweat and passion of construction workers laboring in harsh conditions are a value that cannot be exchanged for anything." He added that he would "do his utmost for the welfare and employment stability of construction workers, drawing on 30 years of experience on the front lines of labor administration."

His term runs two years, from Monday through Sept. 20, 2028.
