HS Hwaseong volunteers improve elderly couple's home ahead of Chuseok

The HS Hwaseong volunteer corps visited a household in Sincheon-dong, Dong-gu, Daegu on Sunday to carry out a residential improvement project ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

The recipients were an elderly couple whose home had fallen into disrepair, leaving them with daily inconveniences they could not address on their own due to financial constraints.

In response, about 10 members of the volunteer corps took part in the effort to help the couple live in a safer and more comfortable environment.

The volunteers replaced the worn kitchen sink to ease difficulties in the kitchen and refreshed the interior by re-wallpapering the walls and relaying the floor coverings.

They also disposed of waste, rearranged furniture and cleaned the unit, helping to create a tidier and more pleasant living space.

Kim Sang-heon, head of the HS Hwaseong volunteer corps, said he hoped the work would make the holiday season warmer for the elderly residents. "We will consistently continue our community outreach and social contribution activities that provide practical help to our neighbors in their daily lives," he added.
