Korea Maritime and Ocean University holds chuseok charity event

The Social Service Center of Korea Maritime and Ocean University announced Wednesday that it had held a "chuseok" charity donation event.

The event was organized to provide practical support to neighbors in the local community ahead of the holiday, and to promote the university's social responsibility and community outreach through voluntary participation by students and staff.

The center, together with student and faculty volunteers, held a donation-package wrapping session on Sunday, followed by a handover ceremony at the student union building on Monday, where the goods were delivered to the Yeongdo-gu Volunteer Center. The donated items — groceries and daily necessities — were selected for their practical use during the holiday period.

The Yeongdo-gu Volunteer Center will select around 70 households from marginalized groups in the area to receive the donated goods.
