Gallery Now in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, is hosting a solo exhibition by photographer Hwang Myung-ja through Oct. 5. Titled "Goyohi Dasi Saraga (Quietly Living Again)," the show features work by Hwang, a recipient of the K-PHOTO WAVE 7 AWARDS, who uses the lotus flower to examine the many forms life takes. Her camera captures not only blossoms in full bloom but also rain-soaked leaves and stems bent under the weight of water, drooping flowers, and the dried and broken traces left behind. Shot in black and white, the photographs draw attention to light and shadow, shifting forms and lingering marks, tracing the flow of life through the hours of blooming and fading.
