Poppin Hyunjun reveals he owns 3 buildings, 4 supercars — and explains why he flaunts his wealth

Dancer Poppin Hyunjun (real name Nam Hyun-jun, 47) has revealed that he owns three buildings and four supercars.

Poppin Hyunjun appeared Wednesday on the YouTube channel "Daktershin."

When broadcaster Shin Jeong-hwan introduced him as someone who owns six buildings, Poppin Hyunjun corrected the claim, saying he has three. He added that his properties include a country house and an apartment, and that he also owns land in Mokpo.

He also said he once owned six supercars but sold two, leaving him with four.

Asked why he shows off his wealth, he said he wanted to provide motivation rather than act out of arrogance, citing rapper Dok2's habit of flexing — openly flaunting money — in his music and on television.

"Dok2 is a friend who struggled alongside me when we were young," he said. "Seeing him drive supercars, live in hotels and flex — didn't that inspire a lot of people to dream of becoming rappers? I wanted the profession of dancer to look just as cool. I wanted people to think, 'You can live a luxurious life without looking broke.'"

The public reaction, however, was not what he had hoped for. "Revealing the cars actually backfired," he said, adding that even fellow dancers who look up to him thought, "That guy is still showing off and bragging."

Poppin Hyunjun is a first-generation street dancer who helped define the popping genre in South Korea. Building on his dance and performance background, he has worked as a singer, choreographer and performing artist, gaining wide public recognition through television appearances and stage productions. He has also performed across genres, including shows that blend traditional Korean music with contemporary dance.

He currently shares his daily life, dance and artistic work through his YouTube channel alongside his performance and broadcasting activities. Poppin Hyunjun married traditional Korean music singer Park Ae-ri in 2011, and the couple has one daughter, Hana.
