Singer Lee Ki-chan shares update on Yoo Jae-suk, who canceled recording due to illness

Singer and actor Lee Ki-chan has shared a personal update on Yoo Jae-suk, who recently fell ill with a cold.

Lee posted a photo on his Instagram account Wednesday showing himself with Yoo on the set of tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," writing: "Jae-suk, Yoo-neunnim — how many years has it been since we've been on air together? Thank you for your unchanging warmth."

Lee said he was grateful to have been invited on "You Quiz" and had just finished filming with Yoo for the first time in about a decade — before correcting himself. "Wait, we did 'Sugarman' in 2018. So it's not about 10 years — it's been eight years," he added.

In the photo, Lee and Yoo stand close together, both posing for the camera. Lee gives a thumbs-up while Yoo flashes a V sign and pats Lee on the back.

Meanwhile, according to Yonhap, Yoo's agency Antenna announced Tuesday that Yoo had developed a sudden high fever from a cold and was forced to cancel a scheduled recording session.

Yoo had been set to film season 5 of the SBS variety program "Tteummanyamyeon," at an undisclosed location in Seoul, but called off the session before it began.

The agency said Yoo was focused on recovering and that it had sought understanding from those involved while working to reschedule the shoot.

The production team of "Tteummanyamyeon," also confirmed that Yoo canceled the Thursday recording shortly before it was set to begin, citing poor health, and said a new filming date would be arranged soon.

It was the first time Yoo had canceled a recording on the day of filming for health or any other reason since his debut at the first KBS College Gag Festival in 1991.
