US President Donald Trump said Friday (local time) that he plans to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping two more times before the end of the year, as Xi departed the United States following a state visit.
Trump wrote on Truth Social that "we will meet again in China in November, and then again at the G20 Summit in Miami, Florida in December."
Xi had earlier invited Trump and the first lady to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Shenzhen, China, in November, and mentioned the possibility of another meeting at the G20 summit in Florida in December. Trump's post on Truth Social put a firmer shape on the two leaders' planned meetings for the remainder of the year.
Trump described the summit, held on the occasion of Xi's US visit, as "a meeting of friendship, strength and success for both China and the United States."
"Much was accomplished, and much more will be accomplished," he added. "Looking forward to our next meeting!"
Since beginning his second term, Trump has met Xi three times: in Busan last October, in Beijing in May, and at the White House this week.
