Daegu lawmaker Yang Eun-suk wins gender equality policy award for second consecutive year

Yang Eun-suk, a Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker on the Dalseong-gun Council in Daegu, has won the excellence prize at the Gender Equality Policy Award for the second consecutive year.

Yang received the honor Wednesday at the fourth annual 2026 Gender Equality Policy Award ceremony, held at the National Assembly Library.

She has carried out a wide range of legislative activities in areas closely tied to residents' daily lives, including youth affairs, women's issues, labor and the environment.

Yang has also pushed for support for single-person households headed by young people and young women, led the drafting of an ordinance to prevent youth gambling addiction, and worked to improve working conditions for non-regular school employees while advocating for residents' rights to health and a clean environment.

"I am grateful to receive such a meaningful award," Yang said. "I will continue to listen to the voices of residents and work diligently to build a community where everyone can live together."
