Online submissions accepted from Monday through Oct. 31
Ten winning entries to be selected, including superintendent award
Final brand to be confirmed after professional design review
The South Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education is inviting the public to submit proposals for a new brand slogan that will capture the values and identity of education in the province.
The office announced it will hold the "South Gyeongsang Education Brand Slogan Contest" from Monday through Oct. 31. The contest was organized to coincide with the inauguration of the 19th superintendent of education, with the aim of expressing the values South Gyeongsang education aspires to through accessible language and imagery, and of building a broader sense of connection with residents and those working in schools.
Submissions should include a slogan representing South Gyeongsang education, the reasoning behind it, and a visual image. Entries created with the help of AI are accepted, provided applicants submit a separate disclosure form detailing how AI was used. Anyone with an interest in South Gyeongsang education is eligible to enter. Submissions will be accepted online through the contest's dedicated website, which can also be accessed via the office's official website and social media channels.
Entries will be judged on relatability, symbolic value and future-oriented vision. Ten winning entries will receive the superintendent's award along with a total of 3.7 million won ($2,770) in prize money — 1 million won for first place, 500,000 won each for three second-place winners, and 200,000 won each for six honorable mentions.
The office plans to work with professional designers to refine and develop the submitted ideas before finalizing the brand slogan. "We hope many residents and members of the education community will take an interest and participate, so that the slogan can capture the identity and future vision of the new South Gyeongsang education," said Lee Jong-ho, the office's public relations director.
