Seongju-gun in North Gyeongsang Province concluded the "Seongbaksup Night Chamkeunik & Walking, Bambam Festa & Candlelight Concert" at Seongbaksup Forest over two days beginning Friday, the county announced Monday.
On the first day, the "Night Chamkeunik & Walking" event drew a strong response from visitors.
A performance themed around "beautiful encounters" and a hanbok experience held beneath the willow trees added to the charm of the autumn evening. Particularly striking were luminous cloud-fish sculptures installed along the nighttime walking trail, which created a dreamlike nightscape.
On the second day, Seongbaksup Forest hosted "2026 Korea Bambam Festa," a nationwide relay festival organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization in partnership with 10 cities designated as nighttime tourism hubs.
Under the theme "Rest on an Autumn Night — Fill Up, Let Go, and Linger," tourists browsed books and listened to music at the "Bambam Travel Library." The evening continued with a screening of the film "The King's Warden" and a candlelight concert in which thousands of candles bathed the forest in a warm glow, offering visitors a restorative autumn night.
"I am delighted that so many people were able to create meaningful memories in Seongbaksup Forest, which has stood watch over Seongju for hundreds of years, accompanied by the cool autumn breeze," Seongju-gun County Chief Jeon Hwa-sik said. "We will continue to develop distinctive nighttime tourism content unique to Seongju, building an attractive tourism destination that everyone will want to visit."
