Top Euro NCAP rating achieved
Audi Connect emergency call among
comprehensive safety systems applied
The Audi Q7 has earned a five-star rating — the highest possible — from Euro NCAP, the European New Car Assessment Programme, the automaker announced Friday. The SUV became the first production vehicle to achieve a perfect score of 100 percent in the post-crash safety category, demonstrating Audi's comprehensive safety philosophy across every phase of an accident: before, during and after.
The Audi Q7 is a premium SUV configurable for five, six or seven passengers, offering a spacious interior and high versatility. It incorporates a range of safety technologies designed to prevent accidents, protect occupants during a collision and support rescue operations afterward, benefiting both passengers and emergency responders.
Euro NCAP's post-crash safety assessment evaluates automatic notification of emergency services when an accident occurs, the provision of vehicle data needed for rescue operations, and the conditions enabling the quick and safe extraction of occupants. The third-generation Audi Q7 scored 100 percent in this category, affirming Audi's comprehensive safety approach — one that addresses not only accident prevention and occupant protection during a crash, but also rapid rescue and response in the aftermath.
In the event of an accident, the Audi Connect emergency call feature supports swift rescue. When a serious accident occurs, it automatically activates emergency response procedures and can transmit essential data — including the brand, model, vehicle color, additional location information, and legally required details about occupants and collision type. The system also supports multilingual communication and, with the necessary consent, can enable contact via a mobile phone number linked to the vehicle, helping to accelerate response after an accident.
The multi-collision brake system helps reduce the risk of secondary collisions following an initial impact. When crash sensors detect an accident, the system automatically applies the brakes to bring the vehicle to a stop, then engages the parking brake to keep it stationary and activates the hazard lights. The driver can override the automatic braking if needed.
The Audi Q7 also achieved top marks in vehicle accessibility and occupant rescue after an accident. The assessment examines whether doors can be unlocked and opened after a crash, whether the system continues to function when low-voltage power is cut, and whether seat belt buckles can be released — all factors that determine how quickly and safely occupants and rescue personnel can respond in the aftermath of a collision.
"The Q7 has again demonstrated Audi's high safety standards by earning a five-star rating and becoming the first production vehicle to achieve 100 percent in the post-crash safety category at Euro NCAP," an Audi official said. "Audi continues to raise its safety benchmarks through comprehensive safety technology that spans accident prevention, occupant protection during a collision, and rescue support after an accident."
Meanwhile, Audi Korea last month became the third imported car brand in South Korea to surpass a cumulative 300,000 registered vehicles domestically, following the official launch of its local subsidiary.
To expand customer touchpoints and deliver a differentiated brand experience, Audi Korea has been running a series of customer engagement programs: the Audi Open House, where customers can directly experience Audi's various models and services; the Audi Venture outdoor lifestyle program; and the Audi Summer Tour, which offers driving and lifestyle experiences unique to the brand.
