Lee orders 'all-out' rescue effort as factory fire breaks out in Bucheon

President Lee Jae Myung was briefed Friday on a fire that broke out at a factory in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, and ordered the National Fire Agency, the Korean National Police Agency and other relevant authorities to do everything possible to extinguish the blaze and rescue those inside.

Cheong Wa Dae Chief Spokesperson Kang Yu-jung announced the directive in a statement Friday.

Kang said Lee also instructed officials to take thorough measures to prevent additional casualties, given the large amount of flammable materials inside the factory. Lee also urged authorities to make the safety of firefighters a top priority throughout the suppression operation, she added.
