The Gyeonggi Business and Science Accelerator held a business roundtable Thursday at its Paju headquarters to discuss ways to support the growth of local companies, the agency announced Friday.
The meeting was organized following the agency's relocation of its main office to Paju in May, with the aim of strengthening communication with local businesses and channeling on-the-ground concerns into support programs and policy initiatives.
About 15 people attended, including Kim Gil-a, head of the agency's balanced development division, along with representatives from six member organizations of the Paju Entrepreneurs Council and the Paju Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The agency introduced its key functions and business support programs, shared information on regional industry issues with attendees, and explored field-oriented support measures.
Participating business leaders cited rising operating costs and difficulty securing sales channels as their main concerns. They also called for expanded support for in-house technology development, AI education tailored to workplace needs, and regular forums to ensure their voices continue to reach the agency.
The agency outlined available support options in response, including linkages with existing business support programs, assistance with market access, and digital transformation consulting. Items requiring further review will be taken up with relevant departments and partner agencies to assess feasibility and determine follow-up steps.
The agency plans to compile the feedback gathered at the roundtable and identify support measures and regulatory improvements that businesses can tangibly feel. It also intends to maintain ongoing dialogue with local industry associations to develop demand-driven, customized support programs and strengthen cooperative frameworks.
