Seongnam Mayor Shin Sang-jin posted on social media Friday comparing the reasons behind Donald Trump's midterm election defeat with the presidency of Lee Jae Myung.
Shin posted a message titled "Why did Trump lose the election?" on Friday.
"The people held back their anger and quietly cast their ballots. I am once again struck by the weight of each and every vote," Shin said.
"Why were so many Americans angry? Dogmatism? Going it alone? I think it was the result of deep alienation — people feeling shut out of how their country was being run — and frustration over policy outcomes driven by self-conviction with no real communication with the public," he said.
Shin added that "the Lee Jae Myung administration should also take this as a cautionary lesson."
