The Gumi City Women's Organizations Council held its second annual unity and empowerment rally at the multipurpose gymnasium on the second floor of the Gumi City Complex Sports Center on Friday.
About 300 members of local women's groups attended the event, which featured inter-group athletic competitions, a gender-equality OX quiz show and other programs designed to foster communication and solidarity among member organizations while strengthening participants' capabilities.
The council also donated 5 million won ($3,710) to the Gumi City Scholarship Foundation to support local talent development.
Kim Hyeong-mi, chair of the Gumi City Women's Organizations Council, said the event had served as an opportunity to deepen communication and unity among members. "We will continue to practice sharing and service and work toward the development of our community," she said.
Gumi Mayor Kim Jang-ho expressed gratitude to the council for its contributions to community giving. "We will build a Gumi that grows together through women's social participation and empowerment," he said.
