The city of Andong in North Gyeongsang Province signed an agreement with Hoban Construction on Wednesday to establish and operate a public nursery and a community care center inside the Wipark Andong Hoban residential complex.
Andong Mayor Kwon Ki-chang, Hoban Construction CEO Byeon Bu-seop and Wipark Andong Hoban site manager Park In-nam attended the signing ceremony at the mayor's office.
Under the agreement, Hoban Construction will provide space within the shared facilities of the Okdong Wipark Andong Hoban complex to Andong city free of charge for use as a public nursery and a community care center.
The public nursery will occupy 283.7 square meters on the first floor of the complex's shared facilities building, while the community care center will be set up on the first below-ground floor, covering 329.5 square meters.
Meanwhile, the Wipark Andong Hoban complex, comprising 820 units, is scheduled for move-in in January 2027.
With both facilities in place, residents will be able to access age-appropriate care services close to home for children from infants through elementary school age.
"This agreement will give residents a safe, convenient place near their homes where they can entrust their children with peace of mind," Andong Mayor Kwon said.
