About 150 patients, caregivers and medical staff attend
Foundation vows to expand community cultural outreach
SGC Cultural Foundation announced Monday that it held a community outreach concert in the first-floor lobby of Changwon Fatima Hospital in South Gyeongsang Province on Tuesday afternoon.
The concert was organized to give patients and their caregivers a moment of respite and to ease the fatigue of medical staff.
About 150 people attended, including Hospital Director Park Jin-mi and other staff members as well as patients.
The six-member classical ensemble Bellavi Ensemble took the stage, blending the powerful voices of a soprano and a baritone with the rich tones of two violins, a saxophone and a piano.
The program featured the soprano's rendition of the "Queen of the Night" aria and a performance of "Golden" on two violins, followed by a series of pieces showcasing various combinations of baritone, saxophone and piano.
SGC Cultural Foundation said it plans to continue expanding its cultural outreach activities so that more local residents can enjoy access to the arts.
"Music can bring emotional comfort to patients and medical staff alike," a foundation official said. "We will actively seek out community-centered cultural sharing projects to foster mutual growth with local communities."
