Kyungpook National University Hospital has appointed Jeon Young-hoon, a professor of anesthesiology and pain medicine, as its 41st director.
The hospital said Saturday that Jeon received final approval from the Ministry of Health and Welfare on Friday.
The three-year term begins Monday.
Jeon previously served as deputy director of medical services and head of the operating room at Kyungpook National University Hospital, and as president of the Korean Pain Society.
Jeon currently serves as a full member of the National Academy of Medicine of Korea.
