Seongdong-gu in Seoul will host a job fair connecting job seekers directly with hiring companies.

The district office announced it will hold the 2026 Seongdong-gu Job Fair on Nov. 13 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the grand auditorium on the third floor of the district office building.

Co-hosted by Seongdong-gu and the Seongdong-Gwangjin Employment and Welfare Plus Center, the fair will bring together 21 recruiting companies. The event aims to draw about 300 job seekers and will feature one-on-one on-site interviews between company HR managers and applicants.

Attendees can review hiring information from each participating company and interview on the spot with firms of their choice. Support programs to help with job preparation will also be available, including resume photo shoots, resume consultations and AI job competency assessments.

This year, the district has expanded tailored support programs to reflect job seekers' needs. Offerings include an AI health screening, a job-search tarot card reading, a mental health counseling booth and on-site financial counseling — covering health, psychological and financial support throughout the job-search process.

A career lecture will also run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in a small meeting room on the third floor of the district office. Career development consultant Lee So-young will speak on the theme of "From Job Preparation to Career Design," offering guidance on job-search strategies tailored to different ages and personal circumstances, as well as life-stage career planning.

Employment-related organizations will also take part to provide targeted support. Hanyang Women's University's University Job Plus Center, the Seongdong 50 Plus Center, the Dongbu Women's Development Center, the Seoul Metropolitan Seongdong Senior Welfare Center and the Seongdong Workers' Welfare Center will offer job counseling and information on employment support programs for youth, women and middle-aged and older job seekers.

The fair is open to anyone seeking employment, and walk-ins on the day of the event are welcome without prior registration. For more information, contact the Seongdong-gu Hope Job Center at 02-2286-5408 or 02-2286-5409.

Seongdong-gu District Mayor Yoo Bo-hwa said the fair will serve as "a new venue of opportunity where job seekers can find positions that suit them and companies can meet talented candidates." Yoo added that the district will continue to strengthen tailored support that reflects the diverse needs of both job seekers and employers, with the goal of turning those connections into actual hires.
