National Pension Service, Government Employees Pension Service and Private School Teachers Pension sign cooperation agreement on public pension training
The National Pension Service signed a memorandum of understanding Tuesday with the Government Employees Pension Service and the Private School Teachers Pension at its headquarters in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, to cooperate on public pension training and knowledge sharing.
The MOU was prompted by growing demand among participants in the National Pension Service's international training courses for education on other occupational public pension systems, including those for civil servants and private school staff.
Under the agreement, the three organizations will jointly pursue mutual linkage of public pension training programs and exchange of educational resources, sharing of experience and best practices in pension system operations, subscriber management and fund management, personnel exchanges among public pension experts and officials, and information and opinion sharing to improve training program quality.
The three organizations will also establish a working-level consultative body on public pension training to coordinate their cooperation efforts. The body will hold regular meetings to discuss specific initiatives, including the exchange of training resources and the joint development of curricula.
"This agreement will allow us to pool the experience and expertise of all three organizations to deliver more substantive international training," said Jeong Tae-gyu, the National Pension Service's pension director. "We will continue to promote the strengths of South Korea's public pension system to the international community and contribute to the development of pension systems in the countries we train."
