Payment and return-visit data used to select Daeyeop and Singawon
Five products include bulseuji, mandu jjimeoni and seolleongtang
Last year's first collaboration sold 180,000 units cumulatively
Up to 50% discount for Hyundai Card payments through Nov. 25
Hyundai Card is turning the signature dishes of popular Euljiro restaurants into ready-made meals — selected not by online reviews or search rankings, but by actual card payment data. The company analyzed customer spending patterns and return-visit rates to identify the restaurants, then worked with E-mart's ready-meal brand Peacock to bring the flavors home.
Hyundai Card announced Wednesday that it is launching Season 2 of "Peacock: Restaurants Verified by Hyundai Card Payment Data" in collaboration with E-mart. Themed around "the nights and days of Euljiro," the new lineup features five products drawn from two restaurants: Daeyeop, a specialist in Pyongyang naengmyeon and North Korean-style cuisine, and Singawon, known for seolleongtang and doganitang.
Three products come from Daeyeop, all suited to evening drinking: bulseuji, mandu jjimeoni and Pyongyang sulbapguk. Bulseuji is a spicy dish of beef tendon and brisket seasoned with whole garlic and perilla powder. Mandu jjimeoni is a pan-fried Pyongyang-style mandu filled with pork and vegetables, while Pyongyang sulbapguk is a light, clean broth made with both pork and beef.
From Singawon come two soups better suited to breakfast or hangover recovery: seolleongtang and doganitang. The seolleongtang uses three types of bone-marrow concentrate and beef brisket, while the doganitang achieves its rich broth with beef tendon and fresh ginseng.
The selection process drew on analysis by Hyundai Card's Data Lab. Hyundai Card and E-mart examined last year's payment records to assess customer spending habits, per-restaurant sales and return-visit rates. They paid particular attention to the payment histories of customers whose bar visits placed them in the top 25 percent, using that data to identify the best evening drinking-snack spots and the best daytime hangover-cure restaurants separately.
This is the second collaboration between the two companies. The first season, launched in September last year, featured five products from three Seoul restaurants — Hongbok in Namdaemun Market, Ramula in Seongsu-dong and Yakitori Pano in Cheongdam-dong. Those products have sold a cumulative 180,000 units to date.
The new products are available at E-mart stores nationwide and on SSG.com. Through Nov. 25, customers earn a 25 percent discount when accumulating Shinsegae Points, with an additional 25 percent off when paying by Hyundai Card, for a maximum discount of 50 percent. Through Monday, Hyundai Card's members-only shopping app M·MALL is also running a special promotion on eight products — including both existing and new items — allowing up to 100 percent of the purchase price to be paid in M Points.
"Season 2 captures the appeal of the restaurants that define Euljiro's nights and days, grounded in the tastes and choices our members have verified through payment data," a Hyundai Card official said. "We will continue combining Hyundai Card's data capabilities with our partners' expertise to deliver new everyday experiences for our members."
